Guitar Lessons in Schenectady & Albany
At Warren Music Academy, guitar lessons are built for any age, any level, and any style — from firsttime beginners to advanced players preparing for bands, scholarships, recording, or performance. We teach real musicianship, not just “songs,” so every student grows in skill, confidence, and enjoyment.
Our program is welcoming and inclusive, supporting all ages, abilities, and learning styles.
Why Warren Music Academy for Guitar
We are not a plug-and-play franchise. Every student is trained the way elite musicians are trained — with clarity, accountability, musicality, and community. Parents don’t come to us for “just lessons.” They come because they want their child (or themselves) to grow in confidence, creativity, and depth
— the things music gives when it’s taught well by a supportive, collaborative faculty.
Warren Music Academy was founded by Don Warren, a veteran guitarist and educator who has recorded on more than 30 albums, is a voting member of the GRAMMY Awards, and comes from a four-generation family legacy in music. Don has been trusted to coach musicians connected to some of the most iconic classic rock artists of the last 50 years. Known as a “teacher to the teachers,” he has guided everyone from complete beginners to touring professionals and music educators.
What You’ll Learn
- Rhythm, timing, tone, technique, and proper mechanics
- Chords, scales, riffs, lead playing, improvisation, and full-song application
- Music theory taught in a way that applies directly to the guitar
- Ear training, listening skills, and how to rehearse like a real musician
- Styles including rock, pop, blues, jazz, worship, country, metal, indie, and more
- Optional performance training: recording, band rehearsals, live stage skills
Every lesson is grounded in WMA’s education-first philosophy, ensuring students learn skills they can use for life — not just for one song or performance.
Who We Teach
Kids, teens, adults, returning players, singer songwriters, worship musicians, hobbyists, scholarshipfocused students, and working professionals. Whether you’re learning your first chord or refining advanced technique, you’ll be coached at the right level — with purpose, clarity, and encouragement.
