Snow & Weather Policy
At Warren Music Academy, our goal is to keep lessons consistent while prioritizing safety for students,
families, and instructors. Because weather conditions can vary widely throughout the day, our snow
and weather policy is designed to be flexible, practical, and predictable.
Do Lessons Continue When Schools Close?
Yes. Lessons typically continue even if local schools close, as road and weather conditions often
improve later in the day.
School closures alone do not automatically cancel lessons.
When Weather Conditions Are Unsafe
If travel conditions become unsafe for any reason, students may switch to an online lesson for that
week. We offer online lessons through platforms such as:
• FaceTime
• Zoom
• Skype
• WhatsApp
• Or a similar video platform
Online lessons allow students to continue learning without interruption while staying safe at home.
If an Online Lesson Is Not Comfortable
If a student or family is uncomfortable with an online lesson, the instructor will create and send a video
overview lesson for that week whenever possible. This lesson will review key concepts, assignments,
or material planned for the missed lesson.
Instructor Safety
If an instructor determines that travel is unsafe, we will:
• Arrange an online lesson when possible, or
• Provide a video lesson alternative
If neither option is possible, a lesson credit will be issued in accordance with our Lesson Policies.
Communication During Weather Events
When weather conditions may impact lessons:
• We will communicate clearly if changes are needed
• Families are encouraged to reach out with concerns
• Safety decisions are made with care and consideration
Our priority is keeping everyone safe while maintaining continuity whenever possible.
Our Approach
We believe consistent learning is important, but safety always comes first. This policy allows
flexibility without creating confusion or unnecessary cancellations.
If you have questions during a weather event, please contact us.
